Culture and Communication

Anne Morrow Lindbergh said that good communication is as stimulating as black coffee, and just as hard to sleep after.  Oh, how I agree!

I am a displaced soul.  Moving from home to home, school to school, state to state, country to country and job to job means exposure to many different cultures and value systems (even within the same country or town).  Meeting new people, fitting in and finding a niche, or in the work space, getting a message across, is not always the easiest thing in the world.

Through trial and error and downright hard work, my solution is:  get the communication right and the rest will follow.

I find human to human communication fascinating and the unexpected element that culture and individual values contribute makes it all the more exciting.  To this end, I research, experiement with and train people in communication skills, specifically spoken presentation skills.  I also moonlight as a communication skills coach and cross-cultural consultant.
